Plateau State Police Command paraded a
fake army officer recently as it announced
its success in reducing crimes in the state
including recovering various brands of cars
worth over N15m that had been stolen.
The fake soldier, Chijioke Oboh, confessed
that he got the uniform from a deceased
army officer but said he had never used
the uniform for any ulterior motive.
29 other suspects were also arrested for
different crimes committed around the
state. Commissioner of Police, Chris
Olakpe said “weapons, such as AK 47
rifles, AK magazines, locally-made pistols,
grenade, live ammunition and cartridges
were also recovered from the suspects.”
On Tuesday, Olakpe told journalists on
the achievements law enforcement
officers had recorded over the last few
months revealing that suspects were
caught with the help of some members of
the public who tipped the police with
useful information.
